Chicago Airports
When traveling to Chicago you have a choice of two airports for your
trip. Chicago O’Hare Airport or Midway Airport both offers you safe
travel in the air. Because Chicago is a large metropolitan city it is
best to know what part of the city you will be staying prior to making
your flight reservations. Flying in to one airport and having to drive
through traffic to the other side of town is a waste of your time.
Either airport will have the amenities you expect at a large airport.
Car rentals and onsite restaurants are available at both airports.
Midway Airport
Over 17 million people fly into and out of the Chicago Midway Airport.
It is located in the central part of the city. The three largest
airlines using this airport are Southwest, American, and Continental. If
you are visiting the city and need easy access to the central part of
the city, travelling to Midway would be smart. You can travel anywhere
in 30 minutes from Midway. The train, the buses, and car rentals are
available to transport you to your destination. The airport is
handicapped accessible with wide breezeways and bathrooms to accommodate
everyone, even mothers and small children.
Chicago O’Hare
Before Atlanta became the busiest airport in American that title
belonged to Chicago O’Hare. 70 million people access this international
airport. In 2000 international business travelers voted O’Hare “The Best
Airport in North America”. This airport is located northwest of the city,
almost 20 miles away from the downtown area. There is a shuttle between
the two airports in the Chicago area. Many airlines fly into and out of
this airport including several international airlines. Large hotel
chains are in the area for easy access to a place to stay. Most of the
rental car companies have services on site.
